Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

This policy applies to predictxmarkets.com, including our blog at predictxmarkets.com/blog (together, the “Website”). The Website is operated by PredictX Markets Inc., c/o Accelerator Centre, 295 Hagey Blvd., West Entrance, First Floor, Waterloo, ON N2L 6R5 (“PredictX”, “we”, “us”). PredictX is responsible for the personal information it collects through the Website. Our privacy contact is reachable at legal@predictxmarkets.com.

This policy covers only the Website. It does not cover any product, portal or demo we provide to business customers, which have their own terms.

2. What we collect

  • Enquiry and sign-up forms. Your name, email address, the audience you select (for example operator, investor or regulator), any message you choose to write, and a record that you ticked the consent box and when. Please do not put sensitive personal information in the message box.
  • Blog comments. If you comment on a blog post, the name, email address, website (if given), comment text and IP address you submit.
  • Technical data. Your IP address, browser type, device, referring page and the time of each request. We use this to run the Website, limit abuse of our forms and keep the Website secure.
  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Website (pages viewed, approximate location, device and traffic source). See section 6.

3. Why we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and to send you the updates you asked for.
  • To understand which audiences the Website serves and to improve it.
  • To protect the Website and our forms against spam, fraud and other misuse.
  • To meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information.

4. Consent and email

We collect personal information with your consent, which you give by submitting a form and ticking the consent box. We send marketing or update emails only to people who have agreed to receive them, and only about PredictX and its project. Every email includes a working unsubscribe link, and you can also write to us at legal@predictxmarkets.com. You can withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal and contractual limits. If you withdraw, we keep a minimal record so that we do not email you again.

5. Who we share it with

We use service providers to run the Website, such as hosting, email delivery, security and analytics providers. They may only use your information to provide their service to us. We may also share information with our professional advisers, and with prospective investors, lenders or acquirers in connection with a financing or sale of our business, under confidentiality obligations and limited to what is needed. We may disclose information if the law requires it or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

Some of our providers are located, or store data, outside Canada, so your information may be processed in other countries, where it may be accessible to courts and authorities under local law.

6. Cookies and analytics

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. The main Website itself sets no advertising cookies. Google Analytics uses cookies or similar technologies to measure use of the Website. The blog may set cookies needed for comments and site operation. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on. Some features may not work without cookies. We do not run third-party advertising on the Website.

7. How long we keep it

  • Enquiries and contact records: up to 24 months after our last interaction with you, then deleted.
  • Unsubscribe and do-not-contact records: kept so that we can honour your request.
  • Blog comments: until you ask us to remove them or the post is removed.
  • Analytics data: up to 14 months.
  • Technical and security logs: only as long as needed for security, and as set by our hosting providers.

8. Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections and access limited to people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights

You may ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to legal@predictxmarkets.com. We will respond within the time the law requires. If you are unhappy with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

10. Children

The Website is intended for businesses and adults. It is not directed at minors, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

11. Links to other sites

The Website links to other sites, such as our social media pages. We do not control them and are not responsible for their privacy practices.

12. Changes

We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with a new effective date, and for material changes we will take reasonable steps to tell you, and ask for fresh consent where the law requires it.
